It’s November! Pause for a second and let that blow your mind. Also, momentarily freak out about having less than 8 weeks until Christmas and then remember you have almost 8 weeks and Amazon so there’s nothing to worry about.

… but it’s never too early to start thinking about the pies you’re going to bake for Thanksgiving or the Christmas cookies you’re going to bake and gift!! (And we’re going to help you out with all of that. Stay tuned!)

For now, though, put all those thoughts to rest and enjoy some Saturday morning links with us.

This comedian gives major props to his wife after the birth of their first child and it’s pretty great.

I don’t agree with everything in this article but I love the idea that food should be social and communal if possible and shouldn’t be a cause for isolation or impoliteness.

For the improvement cookbook collection (or a great Christmas idea): 9 best cookbooks of all time. At least according to Food52 readers. But if Joy of Cooking is up there, the whole list is legit, IMHO.

This was such an interesting read. Unless you’ve lived under a rock your whole life, you’ve either read or seen or at least heard of Little Women. But do you know the backstory of the wildly popular and formative book?

Lionel Trilling’s article on Mansfield Park was one of the most eye opening essays I ever read. This book is on my wishlist.
